Description

The Turbo Jet GOLD 2400 AWG is a h handheld multi-flow nozzle d for firefighting on board ships and in environments where equipment is heavily exposed to moisture and corrosion. Its MED/SOLAS approval and saltwater-resistant design make it particularly well-suited for maritime, port, and coastal firefighting equipment.

With three flow rate settings— 130, 235, and 400 L/min at 6 bar —it offers greater hydraulic capacity than the GOLD 2235 while maintaining an ergonomic design optimized for operational use.

Key features:

  • 3 selectable flow rates: 130 / 235 / 400 L/min at 6 bar;
  • Adjustable spray angle from 0 to 120°;
  • maximum allowable pressure: 16 bar;
  • rotating male G2" BSP inlet;
  • turbo impeller and rinse function;
  • Can be used with fresh, brackish, or saltwater;
  • Compatible with the wetting and foaming agents specified by AWG;
  • Complies with DIN EN 15182;
  • MED/SOLAS approval.

An AWG- handheld nozzle d for marine and harsh environments

The Turbo Jet GOLD series was developed to meet the unique challenges of firefighting in marine environments. Repeated exposure to moisture, sea spray, and saltwater imposes specific requirements regarding material durability and corrosion protection.

Saltwater, brackish water, and foaming agents: a design tailored to the marine environment

The Turbo Jet GOLD is suitable for use with brackish and saltwater, as well as with wetting agents and foaming agents. This versatility allows it to be integrated into various firefighting systems aboard ships, at port facilities, or in other environments heavily exposed to saline atmospheres.

GOLD Treatment: Enhanced Resistance to Salt Corrosion

The Turbo Jet GOLD features a specialized post-treatment of the anodized surface designed to improve the aluminum’s resistance to corrosion caused by seawater. This design also offers a lighter alternative to the “ handheld nozzles ” traditionally made of brass or bronze for marine applications.

Over 2,000 hours in the DIN EN ISO 9227-NSS salt spray test

The table below compares the resistance of various materials and treatments during a salt spray test conducted in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9227-NSS. Turbo GOLD anodizing achieves a reported value of over 2,000 hours.

Treatment / Material Reported salt spray resistance
Turbo GOLD anodizing > 2,000 h
Black anodizing 1,000 h
Conventional anodizing 500 to 1,000 h
Nickel-plated brass 500 to 1,000 h
Powder-coated aluminum 500 to 1,000 hours
Brass/bronze at monitor 240 h
Unprotected aluminum 24 h

Turbo Jet GOLD 2400: up to 400 L/min with a 120° adjustable spray

Three selectable flow rates: 130 / 235 / 400 L/min at 6 bar

A large adjustment ring allows you to select one of three available flow rates: 130, 235, or 400 L/min at a reference pressure of 6 bar. With a maximum flow rate of 400 L/min, the GOLD 2400 is suitable for systems requiring greater hydraulic capacity than that offered by the GOLD 2235.

Turbo impeller, flushing function, and spray adjustment

The spray pattern can be continuously adjusted from 0 to 120°. The turbo impeller promotes the formation of fine droplets, while the flushing function helps remove impurities that could interfere with the operation of the handheld nozzle.

Two markings are also provided to facilitate handling of the Turbo Jet GOLD when visibility is severely impaired. The lever and ergonomic handle are made of impact-resistant modified polyamide.

Choose the Turbo Jet GOLD 2400 and benefit from MMF’s expertise

GOLD 2235 or GOLD 2400: Which model should you choose?

Both models share the GOLD series’ specialized design for marine environments but differ primarily in their flow rate ranges:

  • Turbo Jet GOLD 2235: 60 / 130 / 235 L/min at 6 bar;
  • Turbo Jet GOLD 2400: 130 / 235 / 400 L/min at 6 bar.

The GOLD 2400 is therefore suitable for systems requiring a flow rate of up to 400 L/min. When choosing between the two models, you should consider the system’s hydraulic requirements and the characteristics of the existing network.
