Description

The polyethylene suction strainer without a check valve is designed to secure a fire suction line when pumping from a water source. It prevents debris such as leaves, gravel, or floating objects from entering the system to protect the motor pump, hoses, and connected hydraulic equipment.

Its polyethylene basket provides good strength while remaining lightweight and easy to handle in the field. This non-check-valve version is suitable for installations where a water-retention function is not required, or when it is already provided by another component of the suction system.

Simple and robust, it integrates into fire pumping systems, technical tests, and operations requiring a water supply from a reservoir, pond, cistern, or natural water source.

Two models available depending on the suction connection

This suction strainer is available in two models to accommodate the suction lines used in fire protection systems or professional pumping equipment.

  • SYM 65 suction strainer without check valve, made of polyethylene: model compliant with the NF S 61-842 standard, suitable for SYM 65-compatible suction lines.
  • AR100 Suction Strainer without Check Valve, made of polyethylene: designed for suction lines with a compatible AR100 connection.

Key Features

  • Available models: SYM 65 or AR100, depending on the required connection.
  • Polyethylene basket: lightweight, durable, and suitable for field use.
  • Version without check valve: designed for filtration without maintaining a water column.
  • Pump protection: limits the entry of solid debris and floating particles.
  • Quick and easy to use: can be installed directly in suction configuration.

FAQ – Suction Strainer Without a Check Valve

What is a suction strainer used for?

A suction strainer filters debris from a water source to protect the pump and the suction line. It prevents particles from entering that could damage or disrupt the system’s operation.

What models are available?

Two models are available: the SYM 65 suction strainer without a check valve, made of polyethylene, and the AR100 suction strainer without a check valve, made of polyethylene.

What is the difference between a strainer with and without a check valve?

The version with a check valve helps keep water in the suction line to facilitate priming. The version without a check valve only filters out debris and does not retain water.

How do I choose between the SYM 65 and the AR100?

The choice depends on the connection type of the suction line being used. The SYM 65 model is suitable for SYM 65-compatible systems, while the AR100 model is designed for lines with an AR100-compatible connection.
