Description

A VSL, or Light Medical Vehicle, is a vehicle used for the medical transport of patients who can be transported in a seated position. Like ambulances, these vehicles must be equipped with the necessary supplies to handle situations requiring first aid during transport.

The VSL/Ambulance First Aid Kit combines , in a single container, supplies intended for medical transport professionals. Its contents address several needs: wound care, patient stabilization, hygiene, personal protective equipment for responders, respiratory support, and management of certain medical conditions or motion sickness.

Two versions are available with exactly the same contents: a polypropylene kit or an ABS (rigid plastic) kit. The choice therefore comes down primarily to the material and size of the container.

Polypropylene or ABS: What’s the Difference?

Polypropylene is a plastic material used to make rigid, lightweight cases suitable for storing emergency supplies. This version is 100 mm deep, which helps minimize its bulk inside the vehicle.

ABSis also a rigid plastic, commonly used for cases and enclosures that require good impact resistance. The ABS case is deeper, at 130 mm compared to 100 mm for the polypropylene version.

However, both models share the same width and height, the same weight, and, most importantly, the same first-aid contents.

This equipment is intended for professionals who have received the necessary training in its use and supplements the emergency first-aid supplies on board.

Supplies for medical emergencies and patient transport

The 5 vomit bags directly address needs that may arise during patient transport. Five individually wrapped sugar cubes are also included in the kit.

A battery-powered flashlight also provides portable d lighting directly from the emergency kit.

A kit designed to be mounted in the vehicle but easily transportable

Both versions feature a wall mount that allows the kit to be stored in a designated location within the vehicle or in a room. The screws and anchors needed for mounting are included.

The handle allows the kit to be quickly removed from its mounting location when the equipment needs to be brought closer to the patient or moved out of the vehicle.

Keeping the kit ready for use

The contents must be checked regularly to verify that all equipment is present, to assess the condition of sterile packaging, and to check the expiration dates of the relevant products.

Used or expired supplies must be replaced so that the kit remains complete and immediately available for the next patient.
