P.I.L. reinforced hose for firefighters and industry

The PIL hose is a high-performance flexible delivery hose, ideal for firefighting and demanding industrial environments. Its reinforced design makes it a reliable piece of equipment for intensive use, combining mechanical strength, durability and flexible handling.

Construction and materials

  • Textile weave: 100% polyester synthetic fiber warp and weft, high tenacity, circular twill weave
  • Longitudinal elongation max. 3% - Transverse elongation max. 4
  • Inner lining: black SBR rubber with NBR adhesive coating, resistant to oils and hydrocarbons, smooth inner wall to limit pressure loss
  • Outer coating: polyurethane coating, excellent resistance to abrasion, ozone and ageing

PIL stands for "Pompier Incendie Légèrement Armé" (or sometimes "Pompier Incendie Léger", depending on the manufacturer).
This is a flat, flexible hose, generally without heavy armouring, used to transport and deliver water during firefighting operations.
It is lighter and easier to handle than a reinforced hose (such as fire hose reel or metal-armored hose), making it easier to deploy quickly.
PIL hose is often used in conjunction with other fire-fighting equipment (hose reels, motor-driven pumps, tankers).
