Automating the Reconditioning of Fire Hoses
After a response, maneuver, or cleaning operation, manually recoiling flexible hoses becomes particularly cumbersome as their diameter and weight increase. This electric fire hose reel automates this process to make it easier for an operator to restore the equipment to working order.
The 660 W electric motor, powered by two 18 V Milwaukee batteries, directly drives the reeling system. The device can be used with dry or wet hoses and is not limited to winding: it can also help remove residual water from a hose and allow for controlled unwinding thanks to the reverse function.
Two configurations based on hose diameter and weight
The line we carry includes two configurations designed for different needs. The DN100 version features a compact, easily transportable design for recoiling hoses of intermediate diameter. The DN150 version is designed for handling larger-diameter hoses and features a foldable four-wheel chassis that improves the equipment’s stability during winding and when moving the recoiled hose.
DN100 Version: A Compact and Versatile Solution
This configuration combines a foldable frame with a removable hose holder. It allows for the winding of different hose sizes by adjusting the support used. The quick-release system makes it easy to replace the hose holder when the configuration of the line being reconditioned changes. The version up to DN100 allows for the winding of 40 m of DN100 pipe.
DN150 Version: A Four-Wheel Chassis for Large-Diameter Hoses
The configuration for sizes up to DN150 is designed for heavier, larger-diameter hoses: it can wind 25 m of DN150 hose. Its foldable four-wheel chassis remains stable during winding and makes it easy to move the wound hose afterward without requiring the operator to bear a significant portion of its weight. Two types of removable hose holders can be used depending on the diameter: a drum-style holder for larger sizes and a two-fork holder for smaller-diameter hoses.
Winding, draining, and unwinding with a single unit
The benefit of the electric reel is not limited to replacing manual winding. The hose can be guided during rewinding to ensure even winding, then removed from its holder for storage or transport.
The guide roller can also be used to facilitate draining a hose that still contains water. By selecting reverse mode, the equipment also allows for the gradual unwinding of a hose that has already been wound. These functions are particularly useful in emergency response centers, equipment workshops, training centers, and industrial fire departments that regularly perform maintenance operations.
A motor system designed for controlled operation
The control system includes a winding power limiter to shut down operation in the event of a significant overload. The motor also features a soft start and stops immediately when the control is released.
The low-voltage power supply is provided by two 18 V Milwaukee batteries. The batteries are not included with the reel.

Electric hose reel or manual hose reel cart?
The electric reel is particularly well-suited when the diameter, weight, or frequency of hose reeling makes a motorized solution appropriate. For smaller-diameter hoses and occasional use that doesn’t require a motor, our manual hose reels offer simpler and more compact solutions.

FAQ - Electric Fire Hose Reel
Which configuration should I choose: DN100 or DN150?
The DN100 version is suitable when the hoses to be re-reeled fall within the diameter range covered by this configuration and a compact unit is preferred. The DN150 version is designed for larger-diameter hoses and features a four-wheel chassis that is particularly well-suited for handling heavy hoses.
When should you choose an electric reel over a manual model?
A motorized reel becomes particularly advantageous when the pipes are heavy, have a large diameter, or are regularly reconditioned. For smaller diameters and occasional use, a manual reel cart may be a simpler solution to transport and operate.
